Local War Hero Remembered
William James Birse was only 19 years of age when he died in the great war but his name is absent from the local memorial in Leochel-Cushnie. June Cutter contacted the church website to try and investigate why this was the case and set about a long journey that would eventually lead to a new being added - that of her great uncle, William James Birse.
